The Sixth Volume of SGtOC includes the following topics: chemistry of alicyclic compounds (cyclohexane, cyclohexene and cyclohexanone), stereoselective aspects of organic synthesis, chemistry of carbohydrates, amino acids and proteins, nucleic acids, organic spectroscopic techniques (UV-VIs. IR, NMR and Mass) and aromaticity. Written in lucid and student-friendly conversational tone, the book aims to develop the basis understanding of organic chemistry suitable for an undergraduate and graduate audience with an emphasis on synthetic organic chemistry. The text is supplemented with scores of problems, the solution to which are supplied at the end of each chapter, thus this book is suitable for use as a self-study guide.
