Why is Measure Theory offered as a core course, in Master Degree programme across almost all Universities? Because it is the starting point of any analysis oriented courses at higher levels and it equips the aspiring analysts a “bag of tools” for future use. However students and teachers seem to find it difficult to grasp and handle.
Henri Lebesgue built the theory based on geometric intuitions but over the course of time these geometric ideas seem to have vanished from the text books and courses taught at the universities and hence it feels a dry course that is inaccessible and hard to appreciate. We try to address this issue through our approach in this book.
