This volume focuses on basic Classical Mechanics at an introductory level, specically
within the Newtonian framework. The rst two chapters address the mechanics of
individual particles and systems of particles, with a special emphasis on collisions
analysed in both the laboratory and center-of-mass frames. There are separate
chapters dedicated to central forces and oscillations. Additionally, the general
properties of matter are discussed, including elasticity, surface tension and viscosity.
The nal chapter covers the mechanics of uids, presenting these concepts as a part of
continuum mechanics.
